Slow what u could try is CLEARING your sites CACHE, do it at least 2 times. If that still does not work then I would completely REMOVE the Shoutbox files and DELETE the Shoutbox dbase table(s). Once u have done that. I would upload the Shoutbox files from the Nuke-Evolution v2.0.7 CMS Software .ZIP Package, NOT FROM THE XTREME PACKAGE, ok.

Once u have the files uploaded then INSTALL it (dbase tables). Then do the configuration setup for it and u should then b good to go.

The Shoutbox in the Xtreme CMS Software package has always seemed to have problems with it like that. Many many site owners have reported this and I've heard it so many times too. The Shoutbox that comes with the Nuke-Evolution v2.0.7 Package has always worked for me without errors like yours.

If u still can not get it to work without error like that, let me know and I can c what I can do about getting installed for u and getting to work correctly, ok.

Wow, great answer, fulfilling.  I"ll back up the site and give it a go.  Yeah, never had a prob with...I must be getting old b/c now "prob", it seems, has worked its way into the mainstream. ha ha...(prob doesn't show up in my spell checker).  Anyhow, as I was saying, I never had a prob during Evo...by the way, Evo checks out...

If u have the CACHE Feature turned on for your site, it could b the cache itself.

Now here is something that ALL never ever check. In  the config.php file there is 2 sections in it called...

Directory Mode
File Mode

By default they r both set to... 777, u need to check your site with how your HOST has their software setup, either...

Server API = Apache
or
Server API = CGI

Most sites that I look at, there r usually always... Server API = CGI and if that is your case u will need to make the change in the CONFIG.PHP file.

Mines Apache, cooler sounding name, still the config.cfg tho. and they r 777 & 666.  Cache on as well.

I'll try the other this weekend sometime when I have more time.

Open the modules/Shout_Box/admin/index.php,
find both instances of shout_create_date and replace with EvoDate.
You need to replace the function name with EvoDate exactly how i typed it, if you type it any other way in the incorrect case type the error will continue to occur.
This is taken from a post at evolution-xtreme.com. It worked for me. Lotsa' luck.

NO, don't do that. DO NOT use the one from the XTREME Package It's got problems with it. I always use the one from the Nuke-Evolution v2.0.7 Package when installing Evolution v2.0.7 or Xtreme v2.0.9.x and never had a problem with it yet.

As far as changing that setting in your CONFIG.PHP, since your host is using APACHE for the CGI, leave it the way it is. I guess u did not understand what I posted. In the config.php file, it explains the difference and what u should have it set to according to your CGI setup.

So stick with the DEFAULT setting, ok.

Yeah I understood ya, I wasn't gonna change them.  When I said, "I'll try the other this weekend sometime when I have more time", I meant I would delete the tables and Shout_Box package and install Nuke-Evolution v2.0.7's Shout_Box.

Thanks GreggyD for the reply, I think I'll try the above first and see if it works.

OK, got that done and now I have an error at the top of my site page:
Warning: include_once(/home/xxxxxx/public_html/modules/Shout_Box/shout.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/mainfile.php on line 362
Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening '/home/xxxxxx/public_html/modules/Shout_Box/shout.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/mainfile.php on line 362

I don't know what this means b/c it's a clean install.  But everything else seems flawless.  It's Shout_Box v8.5.

OK, I tried both the evo207 & the evo-xtreme209d shout.php file and I get a Fatal Error:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare shoutbox() (previously declared in /home/slowman/public_html/modules/Shout_Box/shout.php:107) in /home/slowman/public_html/blocks/block-Shout_Box.php on line 720

I've commented out the references in the mainfile.php on line 362 until I can figure it out.

Slow when u installed the new Shoutbox files from your ftp server, did u TURN OFF the CACHE feature in the CONFIG.PHP file ?

Do u still get those error with the CACHE feature TURNED OFF ??

From my end and without checking or looking, could b that maybe some of your cms software files r corrupt. There would b other factors as well, like...

Did u install or add any MODS that made u add code edits to any of the cms software core files ?
What version of Nuke-Evolution-Xtreme is this ??

I haven't turned the cache off, it's the config file from xtreme209d, doesn't have an "off" feature.  I haven't used or installed any other mods.

The CONFIG.PHP file for both the Nuke-Evolution and Xtreme cms software's have the CACHE feature and thus has the ability to turn ON or OFF.

That is weird. I am using the evo extreme one and don't have a problem. Guess i better keep an eye on it just in case.
